Deutz DQC III-18LA
Deutz DQC III-18LA is a lower SAPS* lubricant specification designed for use in high performance medium and heavy-duty diesel and gas engines with closed crankcase ventilation and high thermal loads. This specification can be used in applications where advanced aftertreatment systems such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) are fitted. Deutz engines which require this lubricant specification would typically align with Stage IIIB and higher emissions standards.
Deutz DQC III-18LA oils are typically SAE 15W-40, 10W-40 or 10W-30 viscosity grades, based on API Group II base oils with low levels of API Group III when required.
The main physical and chemical requirements for Deutz DQC III-18LA are shown below:
Requirement | Method | Unit | Limit |
HTHS viscosity at 150°C | CEC L-36-A-90 | cP | ≥ 3.5 |
Sulphated Ash | ASTM D874 | %wt | ≤ 1.0 |
Phosphorus | ASTM D5185 | %wt | ≤ 0.12 |
Sulfur | ASTM D5185 | %wt | ≤ 0.4 |
Evaporation loss (NOACK) at 250°C | CEC L-40-93 | % | ≤ 12 |
Total Base Number | ASTM D2896 | mg KOH/g | ≥ 7 |
