Deutz DQC III-18
Deutz DQC III-18 is a lubricant specification designed for use in medium and heavy-duty diesel engines with closed crankcase ventilation and high thermal loads. This specification is intended to be used in engines where advanced aftertreatment systems such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) are not fitted. These vehicles would typically align with the Stage IIIA emissions standard and prior.
Deutz DQC III-18 lubricants are typically SAE 15W-40, 10W-40, 10W-30 viscosity grades, based on API Group I or II base oils, with low levels of API Group III when required.
The main physical and chemical requirements for Deutz DQC III-18 are shown below:
|HTHS viscosity at 150°C||CEC L-36-A-90||cP||≥ 3.5|
|Sulphated Ash||ASTM D874||%wt||≤ 2.0|
|Phosphorus||ASTM D5185||%wt||Rate & report|
|Sulfur||ASTM D5185||%wt||Rate & report|
|Evaporation loss (NOACK) at 250°C||CEC L-40-93||%||≤ 12|
|Total Base Number||ASTM D2896||mg KOH/g||≥ 9|
