BMW Longlife 12 FE
BMW Longlife 12 FE oils are Top Tier lower SAPS1 lubricants. They are designed for use in a limited range of BMW gasoline and light-duty diesel engines as specified by BMW.
BMW Longlife 12 FE oils are typically low HTHS (≥ 2.9cP) SAE 0W-30 based on API Group IV base oils.
The main physical and chemical requirements for BMW Longlife 12 FE oils are shown below:
Requirement | Method | Unit | Limit |
HTHS viscosity | CEC L-36-A-90 | cP | ≥ 2.9 |
Sulphated Ash | ASTM D874 | %wt | ≤ |
Phosphorus | ASTM D5185 | %wt | ≥ |
Sulphur | ASTM D5185 | %wt | ≤ |
Evaporation loss (NOACK) | CEC L-40-A-93 | % | ≤ |
Total Base Number | ASTM D2896 | mgKOH/g | ≥ 6.0 |
Note 1 : SAPS refers to Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur, the levels of which are often restricted in the latest performance specifications.
BMW Longlife 12 FE is usually coupled with ACEA C2-16.
