ACEA E11-22

ACEA E11-22 oils are mid SAPS1 Super High Performance (SHPD) lubricants for use in mid drain applications.

ACEA recommend ACEA E11-22 for use in vehicles fitted with advanced exhaust aftertreatment systems for the reduction of particulate matter (DPFs) and the oxides of nitrogen (EGR and/or SCR) in combination with low sulphur diesel fuel.

ACEA E11-22 replaces ACEA E9-16 in the latest update of the sequences.

The requirements of the Cummins ISM test places emphasis on enhanced soot related wear control for ACEA E11-22 in comparison to other ACEA Categories.

ACEA E11-22 is typically grouped with a range of other approvals. Some examples of approvals that can be targeted in conjunction with E11-22 are API CK-4, Daimler MB-approval MB228.31, MAN M3775, MTU Type 2, Volvo VDS-4.5 & Deutz DQC III-18 LA.

Typically, OEM approvals outlined by Daimler, MAN, MTU, Volvo and Deutz will build on top of an ACEA E11-22 baseline with additional performance requirements in areas such as wear protection and protection against oxidation.

Note 1 : SAPS refers to Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur, the levels of which are often restricted in the latest performance specifications.


ACEA E11-22 introduces additional requirements in comparison to ACEA E9-16.
