Landfill sites are used for disposal of municipal waste materials, construction debris and other organic waste. Landfill gas is an attractive renewable energy source and alternative to fossil fuels—oil and coal. Landfill sites are huge repositories of energy waiting to be used, however the landfill gas produced presents unique challenges to stationary gas engines utilized in the extraction and power generation processes.
Virginia Carrick, Global Technology Manager, Stationary Natural Gas, Engine Oils, and Al Haas, Global Product Manager, Stationary Natural Gas, Engine Oils, discuss these challenges in this video.
