Nov 30, 2018

From December 1, 2018, all engine lubricant formulations making ACEA performance claims must comply with the latest ACEA 2016 European Oil Sequences.

In this video, Lubrizol product managers, Sarah Graham and Alex Jones, and technology manager, Nigel Britton, advise the key compliance dates and changes that have been made to the light-duty and heavy-duty engine oil sequences; whilst regional sales managers, Michel Lamouroux and Manuel Hernandez, discuss the value of ensuring engine lubricant formulations comply with ACEA 2016.

ACEA 2016 brings changes to the engine and laboratory tests that are required in order to continue to make a performance claim against a particular ACEA oil sequence. From December 1, 2018, all existing lubricant formulations making an ACEA performance claim must conform to the requirements of ACEA 2016. Awareness of this date is vital, as lubricant manufacturers must adhere to the requirements that these latest performance specifications demand and ensure their brand reputation is protected.
